Alex Rossides has been a treat to watch on the back-end for the Ottawa Jr Senators Midget AAA club this season. He has a calmness about him with and without the puck and has become more and more reliable through out the progression of the season.

He currently sits 2nd overall in Goals among league defenders (7), and 5th in Points (19) through 37 games.  He represented HEO at both the Peterborough Tournament of Champions and Marlies Holiday Classic.  The two-way defender also suited up in 1 game this season with the Embrun Panthers of the CCHL2.

What his Coach says:

Alex is a very skilled and puck moving defenseman. His poise with the puck, as well as strong skating edge enables him to escape the constant pressure of fore-checkers. Combined with his excellent vision, he can have an impact in all three zones of the ice and move pucks to open teammates. Alex can be called upon during critical times of a game as he makes good decisions with and without the puck while being strong positionally – Steve Malette – Head Coach – Ottawa Jr Senators Midget AAA

What the Scouts say:

Smooth skating offensive defenseman with powerful stride. Shows ability to get up ice and lead or join the rush. Can walk in comfortably for back-door plays as well. Stick on stick defender. Will need to add more strength to slight frame to be more effective – Benjamin Gallant – International Scouting Services

Quick, mobile player with good feet. Has a good wrist shot and the ability to get it through traffic. Does nice work as the QB on the power-play. Reliable defensively. Needs to fill out and add strength – Levi Hill – International Scouting Services
