Ottawa, ON – HEO Midget AAA is pleased to announce that Ottawa Jr Senators rookie Jacob Osborne has been named the winner of the 2019 Top Goaltender Award.
The 2003 born Gloucester, ON native posted a 15-6-1 record, with a .932 SV%, 5 Shutouts and a league leading 1.82 GAA.
“It is no surprise that Ozzy is the recipient of the Top Goaltender Award,” said Jr Senators Head Coach Steve Malette. “After going undrafted at the CCHL Bantam Protect Draft, Jacob made OJS as a walk-on invite and never looked back. His stellar goaltending and athletic abilities during training camp surprised everyone on our staff. At that point we quickly realized the potential we had in this young athletic goalie. In his first start, he posted a 27-save shutout, his first of five on the year. This was definitely the start to something special as he has put together the best season of his Minor Hockey career and we couldn’t be happier for him.”
The undrafted rookie prospect is a graduate of the Upper Canada Cyclones AAA program.
