OTTAWA, ON – HEO U18 AAA is pleased to announce that Kemptville 73’s Head Coach Brad Smyth has been named the 2022-23 Coach of the Year as voted by the coaching staff’s across the league.
Smyth, who is in his first season behind the bench for the 73’s, led his club to a 29-10-1-2 record which was good enough for a 2nd overall finish. The 73’s +72 Goal Differential was 2nd among all teams as was their Goals Scored with 197 tallies.
In the Special Teams department, the 73’s finished 3rd best in PP% with a 24% success rate while also finishing tied for 1st in Shorthanded Goals Scored with 10. They were also one of the most disciplined clubs in the league as they were only short-handed 129 times, which was the 3rd lowest across the league.
