OTTAWA, ON – HEO U18 AAA is pleased to announce that Rockland Nationals defenseman Sam Ethier has been voted 2022-23 Top Defenseman by the league coaching staffs.
The 2006 born Ottawa, ON native finished tops among all league blueliners in Goals (21) and Points (44) in 41 games of action. He is the first defenseman in HEO U18 AAA history to reach the 20-goal mark in a single season.
A two-way defender with a goal-scoring touch, Ethier should garner attention in the upcoming OHL U18 Draft. His strong play earned him a call-up where he dressed for 6 games with the CCHL’s Rockland Nationals, scoring 1 goal and adding 1 assist.
In 70 career U18AAA games, Ethier has totaled 58 points (27G, 31A).
