HEO Midget AAA is pleased to announce that ‘2002 born Cornwall, ON native Joshua Barnes has been named Top Prospect for 2017-18.
In his first season with the Cornwall Colts Midget AAA program, Barnes scored 26 goals (6th) and totaled 52 points (2nd) in 39 games.
The highly skilled goal scoring forward also represented HEO at both the Marlies Holiday Classic and Peterborough Tournament of Champions where he led the tournament in scoring.
“Josh is an exceptional athlete”, said Colts Head Coach Ian MacInnis. “It is an absolute pleasure to work with him. He has a real hunger to learn, and being a student gives him real separation from other players. His hockey IQ is high, he has great quickness, and shoots very well. He is a great kid to coach and a real pleasure to watch play.”
Barnes has also dressed in 6 games with the CCHL’s Cornwall Colts, posting 3 goals and totalling 5 points.
He was selected in the 1st round, 3rd overall by the Cornwall Colts in the 2017 CCHL Bantam Protect Draft.
