OTTAWA, ON – Drafted in the 2nd round of the 2021 Central Canada Hockey League Bantam Protected Draft by the Rockland Nationals, Navan, ON native Tyler Smith has shown an elite compete level and an added scoring touch in his rookie season of HEO U18 AAA.
A great skater with incredible acceleration and agility. Smith combines his elite skating abilities with his puck skills to generate offensive opportunities for him and his line-mates. He possesses a very quick release and a knack for playing below the dots in tight spaces.
He brings a compete level into every shift he takes and strives to be the hardest working player on the ice. A very good 200-foot player, he impresses his teammates and coaches with his desire and work ethic in defensive situations.
Through 19 games, Smith has totaled 10 points (7G, 3A).
Prior to playing U18 AAA, Smith came up through the Eastern Ontario Wild AAA program.
