OTTAWA, ON – Selected in the 1st round of the 2021 Central Canada Hockey League Bantam Protected Draft by the Kemptville 73’s, Iroquois, ON native Roarke Gilmour has been a highly noticeable defensive talent all season in his rookie season of HEO U18 AAA putting together consistent efforts each game.

Gilmour has an OHL grade shot and is a strong skater which make him a threat on the ice each shift. Through out the season he has also become more polished on the defensive side of things, upgrading his profile to that of a two-way defenseman.

A proven leader through out his minor hockey career, Gilmour dons an “A” as a rookie with Kemptville and is as mentally strong as he is physically. Although not the biggest player, he plays a big game and will not back down from anyone.

Without question, he is one of the top available defenseman eligible for the upcoming OHL Draft, and could jump into the Major Junior ranks within a year of being selected, if not right away.

Through 31 games, Gilmour has racked up 21 points (8G, 13A), placing him second overall among HEO U18 AAA rookie defensemen.

Prior to playing U18 AAA, Gilmour came up through the Upper Canada Cyclones AAA and Rideau St. Lawrence Kings A/AA programs.
