OTTAWA, ON – Selected in the 4th round of the 2021 Central Canada Hockey League Bantam Protected Draft by the Brockville Braves , Landon Wright has noticeably been gaining more confidence as a rookie in HEO U18 AAA as of late.
Wright, who spent the majority of his minor hockey days suiting up for the Quinte Red Devils of the OMHA, is only in his second year playing hockey in Eastern Ontario after spending last year with the Upper Canada Cyclones Major Bantam AAA organization.
Wright is a skilled forward who isn’t afraid to go to the tough areas of the ice to battle for pucks. Although only listed at 5”8 and 165 lbs, he can handle himself physically, finishing his checks, while also being able to absorb them. He has a quick release of a shot that can catch goaltenders and defenders off guard and is always moving his feet to attack loose pucks. His motor and active stick put defenders in vulnerable situations, leading to take-aways and drawn penalties.
On the season, the Brockville, ON resident has 11 points (3G, 8A) in 17 games of action.
