OTTAWA, ON – Selected in the 1st round of the 2021 Central Canada Hockey League Bantam Protected Draft by the Rockland Nationals, defenseman Cameron Bergeron has been solid in both ends of the ice in his first season of HEO U18 AAA with the Nationals U18 program.

An elite skilled defenseman with incredible skating and puck possession abilities.  Bergeron has the ability to dictate the game and move his team up ice with good puck decisions and possession.  He has a very strong release and the ability to get shots off with incredible accuracy and speed.

He plays the game with a strong sense of principles and understanding of both defensive and offensive positioning.  Bergeron is a very coachable player, constantly seeking information from his coaches and always trying to increase his knowledge and understanding.

On the year, Bergeron sits fourth among rookie defenseman in scoring with 11 points (2G, 9A) through 16 games of action while averaging 24:35 of ice-time per game. Prior to his time playing U18 AAA, he came up through the Eastern Ontario Wild AAA program.
