The HEO U18 AAA LEAGUE is currently seeking a qualified member to act as the District Chair for U18 AAA.

This is a new position within HEO and will commence 21 August 2020.
For the 2020/21 season the chair will be appointed by the U18 AAA Board of Governors BoG. Term of the position will be two years.
The HEO U18 AAA District Chair will be a standing member of the U18 Board of Governors.
The U18 District will utilize the assets which are already in place within the U18 AAA League, including the Finance manager, League Registrar and League Secretary. The BoG will appoint an Alternate Chair from within the Board to attend meetings when the District Chair is unavailable. The Alternate Chair will be identified at the first BoG meeting of the new Season and will have a term of one year.
DUTIES
Area of Responsibility: The District Chair will be responsible for the 12 HEO/Junior teams that participate within the U18 AAA League. Any other teams participating in the League will remain with their current Districts.
The District Chair will attend Minor Council and any other committees as required and will carry the vote of the League at these committees. The Chair will further carry the U18 AAA District vote (2) at any HEO Special Meetings and the HEO AGM
Working with both the League and the Board of Governors the Chair will attend meetings and provide guidance and assistance as required.
The District Chair will work with the League registrar as well as the HEO U18 Finance Manager to ensure compliance with all League, Branch and Hockey Canada rules and regulations.
ROLES
Risk and Discipline: The District Chair will ensure the administration of suspensions as outlined by the HEO Minor Code of Discipline and the HEO U18 AAA League. They shall forward game sheets for any hearing being held by the HEO Minor D&A Committee to the HEO Minor office upon request. They shall provide a monthly report of suspensions to HEO U18 AAA League Executive. They will Chair any “District Level” Hearings relating to Discipline or Risk and Safety and will report these to HEO as required.
Residency: The District Chair will ensure all HEO Residency rules are adhered to, by players within the League and will be responsible for completing the necessary paperwork for transfers within HEO
Out of Branch Players: The District Chair will vet all requests by teams to ensure that they are eligible to participate in U18 AAA. The Chair will coordinate with both the League and Branch registrars to ensure compliance with all Hockey Canada and Branch rules.
Tournaments and Sanctions: The District Chair will be responsible for all Tournament Sanctions in the name of U18 AAA League. The chair will also be responsible for any out of town travel permits requested by teams within the U18 League.
Affiliations: The District Chair will sign off on any affiliations to, from and within the HEO U18 AAA League. The Chair will further be responsible for authorizing an emergency Goaltender replacement within League play.
