PLAYER SPOTLIGHT | OWEN REDMOND | KEMPTVILLE 73’S

OTTAWA, ON – Selected in the 2nd round of the 2021 Central Canada Hockey League Bantam Protected Draft by the Kemptville 73’s, Mountain, ON native Owen Redmond has taken a major step forward in his second season of HEO U18 AAA.

An incredibly versatile forward who can be counted on in all situations, Redmond has really taken off during his second season of U18AAA hockey. A player with tremendous speed who can beat opposing defenders wide but also has the puck skills and drive to take the puck through the middle. His work ethic is at a high caliber as he never takes a shift off and his energy can set the tone. Although he was passed over in the OHL Priority Selection after his rookie season, he has not missed a beat and continues to put the work in to continue to improve his game. He is projected to be a player who can play anywhere in the lineup at the next level.

So far this season, Redmond sits 4th overall in league scoring with 39 points (16G, 23A) in 25 games of action.

Prior to his time in HEO U18 AAA, Redmond came up through the Upper Canada Cyclones AAA and Rideau St. Lawrence Kings AA programs.
