Ottawa, ON – HEO Midget AAA is pleased to announce that Jeff Stanton of the Rockland Nationals has been named the 2019 Coach of the Year.

In his first season as Head Coach of Rockland after serving as an Assistant Coach in 2017-18, Stanton coached the Nationals to a 25-13-7 record while having the 3rd best Powerplay and 6th best Penalty Kill in the league.

The Nationals had a fairly large roster turnover from last season to this season, with many of their players having advanced to the junior ranks. Stanton embraced the challenge, his players bought into his system and a successful season was the outcome.

Stanton also coached the Ottawa Ambassadors select team at both the Marlies Holiday Classic and Peterborough Tournament of Champions.

Rockland, who is the #3 seed will begin their Telus Qualifying playoffs against #6 seed Nepean on Wednesday night.
