ROOKIE SPOTLIGHT | RICKY WILSON | OTTAWA JUNIOR SENATORS

OTTAWA, ON – A free agent walk-on for the Ottawa Junior Senators U18AAA club, Ottawa, ON native Ricky Wilson stepped right into the lineup as a rookie in HEO U18 AAA and showed a nice mixture of finesse and physicality through out the campaign.

Wilson possesses phenomenal stick-handling ability, both in the open ice and in tight quarters which led to countless scoring opportunities for himself and his line mates. He also brings physicality to the table, which as a rookie skater was a definite asset for a young Ottawa club. He wasn’t afraid to go to the tough areas of the ice to battle for pucks and many times would win puck battles to keep plays alive.

With the puck on his stick, he was very dangerous from the high slot area and in as he has a hard and accurate shot that he showed off countless times to beat goaltenders clean.

On the season, Wilson racked up 35 points (19G, 16A) in 53 combined regular season and playoff games. He also tallied 4 goals in 4 games for Ottawa at the Big Nickel AAA Tournament in Sudbury.
