OTTAWA, ON – Selected in the 2nd round of the 2022 Central Canada Hockey League Bantam Protected Draft by the Smiths Falls Bears, Ottawa, ON native Lior Buchler has had a strong start in his rookie campaign in HEO U18 AAA.
Buchler is a crafty winger who has a very high compete level as his willingness to have a second effort on plays create many opportunities for him and his teammates. His high-compete mixed with his high-level playmaking makes him dangerous in the offensive zone. He also has underrated speed and catches defenders off guard as he gains his extra gear through the neutral zone.
“His biggest asset is his work ethic which is second to none,” said Bears Head Coach J.B Ryan.

Through 8 games, Buchler sits 6th overall among rookie HEO U18AAA skaters with 9 points (4G, 5A).
Prior to playing U18 AAA, Buchler spent the 2021-22 season with Ottawa Myers Automotive AAA where he totalled 21 points (10G, 11A) in 23 games of action. He is a product of both the Myers AAA and Nepean Raiders AA programs.
