ROOKIE SPOTLIGHT | FINN BARTON | CARLETON PLACE CANADIANS

OTTAWA, ON – Selected in the 1st round of the 2022 Central Canada Hockey League Bantam Protected Draft by the Carleton Place Canadians, Kinburn, ON native Finn Barton has had a brilliant start to his 2022-23 HEO U18 AAA campaign.

Barton is a heart and soul type of player who is a natural born leader on and off the ice. He is a quick skater who is able to use his feet and body positioning to quickly get by defenders. His ability to put pucks in the back of the net is unbelievable. He brings a lot to the table, however his biggest asset is his “no quit” work ethic, whether it be blocking shots on the penalty kill, playing net front on the power play, or leading by example 5 on 5, Barton is a player relied on in every situation.

“Finn is a 200-foot player with a high hockey IQ,” said Canadians Scout Benjamin Gallant. “He is not afraid of getting involved in the physical aspect of the game and is is very good at leveraging his smaller size to get an interior position during net front battles.”

In 16 games this season so far Barton has totalled 9 points (7G, 2A).

Prior to his time in HEO U18 AAA, Barton came up through Ottawa Valley Titans AAA and Ottawa Valley Silver Seven AA programs.
