OTTAWA, ONHEO U18 AAA is proud to announce the appointment of Sean Marcellus as its League President. Marcellus has been involved with the HEO U18 AAA league since 2015-16 where he has acted as its Director of Hockey Operations, League Registrar, Social Media Director, and Director of Game-Day Operations in that span.

“I am pleased to accept the position of President and look forward to an exciting year of hockey,” said Marcellus. “As always, we have an exciting group of rookies coming in to our programs as well as a strong roster of returning players looking to continue their development and move up the ranks. This will be my seventh season of involvement with the league and I am continuously impressed with the talent in the Eastern Ontario region. It has been a treat being able to witness the likes of Mason McTavish, Jack Quinn, Cameron Whitehead, and Cedrick Guindon just to name a few come through our programs as part of their development paths. I take great pride helping provide our players with as much positive exposure as possible and will continue to do just that over the course of this season.”

The 42-game 2022-23 regular season schedule will be released in the coming days which will see 22 Monday and 11 Saturday Showcases at Sensplex, with the rest of the games being played out of team hosted venues through out the region.

“To be able to have all our teams in one venue every week brings a balance to the league and is also beneficial to the scouts as they can see multiple players from multiple teams in one trip,” added Marcellus. “It’s going to be a fun season and I can’t wait to get started with one of the best game-day staffs in hockey. Monday’s and Saturday’s at Sensplex will surely be the place to be if you’re a hockey fan.”

Marcellus, who is a graduate of Durham College where he studied Sports Management got started in hockey as a volunteer working for his hometown Junior B club in Arnprior, ON as their Director of Hockey Operations in 2012-13 before moving to Saskatchewan to work for the Battlefords North Stars of the SJHL as their Head Athletic Trainer for the 2014-15 season. Upon returning to Ontario, Marcellus was hired by the Central Canada Hockey League where he has acted as their Director of Operations since the 2015-16 season.
