OTTAWA, ON – Selected in the 5th round of the 2021 Central Canada Hockey League Bantam Protected Draft by the Rockland Nationals, Ottawa, ON native Sam Ethier is leading the charge for Rockland U18AAA and sitting atop HEO U18 AAA scoring among blueliners.
An elite skater and offensively skilled player, Ethier has developed into one of the top, if not the top, defenseman in the league. His ability to control possession and dictate the pace of play is strong and his progress in distributing the puck and making players around him better has been evident all season. Not only an offensive threat, he also uses his size, strength and skating to defend off the rush and below the dots with confidence.
On the year, Ethier has collected 28 points (11G, 17A), in 23 games of action, doubling his offensive output from last season.
Prior to his time in HEO U18 AAA, Ethier came up through the Ottawa Jr 67’s AAA and Ottawa Sting AA programs.
