PLAYER SPOTLIGHT | BRETT HAMMOND | NEPEAN RAIDERS

 

OTTAWA, ON – Selected in the 9th round of the 2021 Central Canada Hockey League Bantam Protected Draft by the Nepean Raiders, 2006 born Ottawa, ON native Brett Hammond has been a welcome addition to the Raiders in his first season of HEO U18 AAA. 

Hammond is a workhorse 200-foot Center. At 6-2, 180 lbs, he is a powerful, dynamic pivot that uses his strength and elite speed to overpower opponents in all three zones and the face-off circle, with an overall win rate of 63%. He is also a natural goal scorer that is extremely comfortable playing in and around the opponent’s net, evidenced by his 29 goals and 11 power-play goals this season. He is poised to become a star for Nepean at the Junior A level over the next few years. 

Hammond finished the regular season with 55 points (29G, 26A) in 37 games of action to place among the Top 10 across the league.

Prior to his time in U18AAA, Hammond came up through the Ottawa Sting AA and Ottawa Jr 67’s AAA Minor Hockey programs.
