OTTAWA, ON – Selected in the 4th round of the 2021 Central Canada Hockey League Bantam Protected Draft by the Renfrew Wolves, Ottawa, ON native Miller Kay took a bit of time to adjust in the early stages, but since he has settled in, he has been on a tear in his rookie season of HEO U18 AAA.
Kay is a fast, agile, dynamic winger with an excellent release. He has elite angling, stick positioning and anticipation, which make him one of the best penalty-kill players in the league. Although being on the smaller side, Kay brings a high-motor and physicality to the table which forces a lot of turnovers on the forecheck.
He has the speed and shooting ability to draw defenders towards him, and the hockey sense to find teammates in scoring positions that he creates space for. Kay is a true two-way forward who makes every line better.
Through 23 games, Kay sits 4th overall in rookie scoring with 23 points (10G, 13A).
Prior to playing U18 AAA, Kay came up through the Ottawa Myers AAA and Nepean Raiders AA programs.
